“2024 vintage: The Winemaker’s Report, Matthieu Danglas”<\/h2>\n

Lots of dryness: less than 150mm of water since the last harvest<\/h3>\n

The 2024 vintage in Paraza was marked by weather conditions that allowed for balanced vine development throughout the year. The spring was relatively mild, with no late frosts, which favored uniform flowering. We experienced a very sunny summer, though with relatively cool nights that helped preserve acidity. However, the dryness significantly impacted the vintage, imposing strong water stress on the vineyard.<\/p>\n

An increasingly environmentally friendly cultivation that is free from pesticide residues<\/h3>\n

In return, the health of the vines and grapes was remarkably good. Our agricultural practices are evolving to continuously adapt to our vines and environment in a sustainable manner. This year again, we are certified High Environmental Value 3, and we are pleased to announce that our wines are certified Zero Pesticide Residues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Long harvests, balanced ripeness<\/h3>\n

The harvest began on August 19 with the picking of Pinot Noir and Gewurztraminer. For red grape varieties like Syrah, Grenache, and Cinsault, we observed a beautiful concentration of aromas thanks to cool nights that preserved acidity, essential for the freshness of the wines. The white grapes, particularly Grenache and Roussanne, displayed vibrant liveliness and remarkable aromatic intensity, with very pronounced floral and fruity notes.<\/p>\n

The smallest harvest in the last 20 years for this 2024 vintage.<\/h3>\n

Despite the very low production, likely our smallest harvest in the 20 years we have been cultivating our vines in Paraza, the 2024 vintage looks promising. The clusters remained healthy throughout maturation, allowing us to harvest high-quality grapes with great freshness and lower alcohol levels than in recent years<\/p>\n

Preserved freshness.<\/h3>\n

In terms of the vintage, 2024 stands out for its very nice structure in the red wines. The tannins are smooth yet present, the aromas are complex, and the aging potential is interesting. The whites and ros\u00e9s, on the other hand, are extremely fresh, with precise aromatic profiles and a balance on the palate that perfectly reflects the Mediterranean identity of our estate’s wines.<\/p>\n

We look forward to the evolution of this vintage in the cellar.
